Kenneth Thompson
Chairman

Kenneth Thompson is a member of Stonewall Baptist Church. He graduated from The Grambling State University with a bachelor’s and master’s Degree. Kenneth also served for 4yrs in the World Famed Tiger Marching Band. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He is the Deputy Grandmaster for the state of Louisiana Masonic organization where he holds several State and Supreme Positions. Kenneth loves to go to the gym and his passion is helping individuals and riding his motorcycles.

Janice Sneed
Vice-Chairman

Janice B. Sneed, a powerhouse with over 30 years of experience in project management, community/economic development, and workforce initiatives. She’s a force to be reckoned with, having managed grants totaling over 50 million dollars throughout her career. With a BS in Computer Science from Grambling State University, an MBA from Centenary College, and a Ph.D. in Human and Social Services in progress, Janice is a lifelong learner and leader.

Major Sneed,  is also a military veteran, having served for 22 years and retired as a Medical Administrative Officer. She’s no stranger to leadership, having been involved in various boards and organizations, including the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Northwest Louisiana, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Louisiana Industry Based Certification Board, Louisiana–Region 7 Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Board, David Raines Community Health Health Services, Ivy Crown Community Services, National Association of University Women, Alliance for Education, Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission, among others.

Outside of her professional life, Janice is devoted to community service and is an active member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Bossier City, where she works with youth ministries. She’s a family woman too, married to Michael Sneed, mother of two and a proud grandmother to four lovely grandchildren.

Her message is clear: together, we can make a difference. Janice is all about fostering growth and partnership within communities.

Brittany M. Young is a millennial attorney and native of Shreveport, LA. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Spanish for the ULM. In 2015, Mrs. Young received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center and is currently the managing partner of the Law Office of Brittany M. Young, LLC.   Her practice involves matters of personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death claims and products liability.

Brittany is a member of the Booth- Politz American Inns of Court, Shreveport Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Justice, Louisiana State Bar Association, National Association of Women Judges, Shreveport Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,Vice President of the Shreveport Council of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, board member of the Multicultural Development Center, Boys and Girls Club Salvation Army, and The Virginia House. Brittany was selected as one of the Shreveport Bossier Magazine Top Attorneys for 2021, recipient of The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, 2021 class of the YPI Top 40 under 40 and Top 40 under 40 Attorney of the Young Lawyers Division of the Louisiana State Bar Association for 2023. However, Brittany’s most important title is being a proud wife of Kermit Young and mother of Emery and Nova.

Cheryl Young

Cheryl Veron Sneed Young’s professional track record is characterized by a wealth of experience in customer service and case management roles. Currently, she is a valued team member at the Bossier Parish Police Department. Born and raised in the Bossier/Shreveport area, Cheryl is the fifth of eight children to the late Norce and Claudia Mae Sneed. Married to Adolph Frank Young, Jr. for 18 years, their family includes two sons, Jordan and Nathan, as well as a daughter, Megan, who has blessed them with a grandson named Jakhari. Cheryl graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City in 1976 and later pursued an associate degree in Business Administration at Southern University, Shreveport, graduating in 2002. In 2004, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Organizational Management from Wiley College, TX.

Her ethical foundation is built on treating others as she would like to be treated. Her involvement in the community spans various initiatives such as PHP- People Helping People, serving as a Medicaid Advocate for the State of Louisiana, being a member of NAACP Bossier, conducting voter registration drives at SMBC, and serving as the President of the 360 Foundation.

Ola (Jewel) Harris
Treasurer

Mrs. Harris serves as the MCDC Board Treasurer and has been a board member for seven years. I have also been a member of Stonewall Baptist Church for 26 years. I retired from the USAF after serving for 23 years. I am currently a 7th-grade English Language Arts teacher in Bossier Parish. I have several undergraduate and graduate degrees, namely a Master of Business Administration in Organizational Management. I believe my God-given purpose is to serve my community in whatever capacity God leads me. One of my primary focuses is Literacy and Education. I strive to ensure that young people gain literary skills and can enter the world with the skills needed to succeed.

Roy Griggs
Assistant Treasurer

Roy Griggs commenced his career with McDonald’s in 1972 under the guidance of the late Stan Sanders. His journey began as a crew member, and he swiftly ascended to the role of Restaurant Manager. Roy has dedicated an impressive 51 years to McDonald’s, encompassing 16 years under Stan Sanders and 35 years as an Owner/Operator. His unwavering dedication lies in the efficient management of exceptional restaurants and his steadfast commitment to the communities he serves.

During his tenure as an Operator, Roy was honored with the prestigious Ronald Award on two occasions. He also held notable positions, such as the Co-Op President for the Shreveport/Texarkana Market and President of the Local Black McDonald Operators Association (BMOA) Chapter.

Roy’s sphere of influence extends to his involvement in various boards, including a gubernatorial appointment by Governor John Bel Edwards to the Louisiana State Racing Commission. He has served as President of the Port of Caddo-Bossier Commission, President of the Boy Scouts of America/Norwela Council, and held memberships in esteemed organizations such as the Rotary Club, the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, and the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce. His philanthropic endeavors include serving as Title Sponsor of the Shreveport Regional Arts Council, Mardi Gras Krewe of Harambee, and Chef Orlando Chatman Golf Tournament, in addition to supporting donations to the Junior League, Committee of 100, Sheriff Safety Town, and other charitable causes.

To enhance transparency within the Shreveport Police Department and foster better relations between the department and the community, Roy spearheaded a collective of concerned business professionals in Shreveport. Notably, he successfully raised $200,000 and presented to the City of Shreveport to procure body cameras for the Shreveport Police Department.

In April 2021, a $2 million campaign was initiated to establish the Roy Griggs School of Business at Southern University Shreveport, Louisiana. Notably, Roy Griggs has played a pivotal role in realizing a long-standing vision by overseeing the establishment of a Ronald McDonald House in Shreveport. Serving as the capital campaign chair for the ten-million-dollar project, the groundbreaking is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, with a projected opening in the first quarter of 2025.

Roy is married to Nelva Griggs, and they have four children, Delano, China, Michael, and Tony, and six grandchildren.

William (Bill) Sankey

William (Bill) Sankey has been an active member of the Stonewall Missionary Baptist Church (SMBC) since December 1978. He played a crucial role in developing the Articles of Incorporation for the Multi-Cultural Development Center (MCDC) and successfully achieved the organization’s 501(c)3 status in 2005. Bill continues to serve on the MCDC Board of Directors.

William (Bill) Sankey’s qualifications and experiences are extensive. He serves as a member of the SMBC Deacon Board and was selected to establish the Trustee Board. His educational background includes a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, and additional studies from the University of Maryland. He is also a graduate of the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy and holds an Associate Degree in General Studies from Louisiana Technical College in Shreveport, Louisiana.

After 21 years of service as an E7 in the United States Air Force, Bill retired and worked as an AT&T Engineer in Telephone Development, Manufacturing, and Production. During his career, he also secured a U.S. Patent NBR: 4,294,480 for a Machine Safety Guard. Bill’s achievements in bowling have earned him numerous first-place awards and rings in various age groups. He has also had the opportunity to travel extensively in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, and the Holy Land, which he considers to be a most memorable experience.

Sharon McCarty

Sharon McCarty has been in service to the community for many decades. Sharon says she has won many awards, but none like a “thank you “is worth as much.  She has served as an Air Force Nurse Corps civil service captain and held office on boards including president, vice president, and secretary. She worked to charter a chapter of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, Incorporated, and an undergraduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Sharon is a retired registered nurse committed to service to all mankind!

Patricia Williams​

Patricia Goines Williams is the Clinical Services Director at David Raines Community Health Centers in Northwest Louisiana. She has decades of experience in the healthcare industry and a proven record in personnel and operational management. Ms. Williams is dedicated to the underserved community and passionate about providing quality healthcare to those in need. Since joining David Raines’s executive team in 2020, Ms. Williams has overseen many community events and health fairs at churches, convention centers, shopping malls, and college campuses, providing COVID-19 vaccines to thousands in the community. Some of her career highlights in operation management include serving as the assistant hospital administrator at LSU Health Science Center, where she was involved in the construction of the LSU Ambulatory Building and the Women and Children Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing with an administrative focus. Additionally, she is a lifelong member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana, where she serves as the youth director and choir member and is active in many other ministries at the church.

Debra Ross

Debra Ross is a dedicated individual with a wealth of life experience. She is married and blessed with three sons and eight grandchildren. Debra is known for her reliability, compassion, generosity, and genuine concern for others. After retiring as an operating nurse from LSU Hospital, she continued to share her expertise as an instructor at SUSLA, where she played an integral role in the surgical technology program.

A devout member of Bossier Baptist Church, Debra actively participates in the choir and fulfills the roles of deaconess and assistant treasurer. Her commitment to her community is evident through her involvement in various organizations, including Women of Vision, NAACP, Council on Aging, Eastern Star, and the Barksdale Annex Association Committee.

In her leisure time, Debra enjoys engaging in friendly games of spades and dominoes, showcasing her culinary skills, line dancing, and cherishing moments with her loved ones.

Maxine Davis

Maxine Davis, a native of Shreveport, LA, is a dedicated member of Stonewall Baptist Church. She graduated from American Intercontinental University in Schumburg, IL., with a bachelor’s degree in business administration/human resources in 2020.

Maxine is a proud mother of two daughters and has six grandchildren. She is a retired federal employee from Barksdale AFB, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by serving as the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) President for eight years. Maxine’s leadership extended beyond her federal service; she is an active member of North Louisiana Interfaith (NLI) affiliated with Together Louisiana, serving citizens in Shreveport/Bossier City and across the state.

Maxine’s commitment to her community is evident through her role as a Medicaid Representative, where she ensures low-income citizens have access to health insurance by assisting in voter registration and working the polls during local and national elections. During tax season, she exemplifies her hard-working nature as an Associate Team Leader with H&R Block.

Throughout her career, Maxine has excelled in recruitment, training, and motivating her staff to meet management objectives. Her people-centric mindset shines through her ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life, making them feel comfortable and valued. This skill has been particularly advantageous in her public-facing roles, enabling her to build strong, trusting relationships within her community.

Donald Lee Greenwell

Mr. Greenwell is a Stonewall Baptist Church member. Experienced Aviation Maintenance Instructor in Saudi Arabia, Industrial Maintenance Instructor at BPCC, and Electronic Maintenance Instructor at Louisiana Technical College. Retired Air Force member with 22 years of service, skilled in Industrial Engineering, holding a BS from Southern Illinois University. Also, experienced as an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor and Aircraft Hydraulic Technician from Air Force Community College.

Corey Williams

I am originally from Natchez, Mississippi. I have been a resident of Shreveport now for more than 27 years. I am an undergraduate of Louisiana Tech University with intercollegiate business studies from Grambling State University. I hold a Master’s Degree from Kaplan University. I am the proud father of two children. I serve in church leadership as a deacon at the Evergreen Baptist Church of Shreveport and am a business owner. I am a mobile notary public and independent life insurance agent.

Sandy Cimino

Sandy M. Cimino is the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Community Bank of Louisiana and has 52 years of experience in banking in Bossier City. She was born and raised in Bossier City and currently resides in Shreveport. She is a graduate of Airline High School, Bossier Parish Community College, and LSUS and has also attended numerous banking schools. She was married to Frank N. Cimino but is now widowed.

David Tinkis

David R. Tinkis is the President & CEO of Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana, Inc., where he has led the $13 million social service and social enterprise organization for the last 12 years. He has extensive experience in program development and service delivery for at-risk populations. His recent activities include addressing the needs of returning citizens through re-entry programming in Louisiana, providing job training and job placement for people with barriers to employment, and expanding employment for people with disabilities in partnership with federal and state entities.

David has over 27 years of non-profit leadership experience with organizations like the American Cancer Society (Baltimore, MD), Boys & Girls Club (Lancaster, PA), The Salvation Army (Minneapolis, MN), and Community Programs, Inc. (Waterford, MI). David has a passion for solving problems, getting people to work together, and creating innovative ways to serve people in need.

David is a member of the American Enterprise Leadership Network and Goodwill Industries International Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Taskforce. He is an officer for the Airline High School Boys Soccer Booster Club. David has served on the Caddo Parish Children & Youth Planning Board, the CABOSA Soccer Board of Directors, and the Airline High Soccer Booster Club. He lives in Bossier City, Louisiana, with his wife Melissa and three children.
